Summary
Vinnie first appeared when he ran over Shirley Carter in his car. He took Shirley to hospital, and gave her his card. They began dating, but split up when Shirley discovered that Vinnie's car and house were actually owned by his friend, Rich, and Vinnie had used them to make her think he was wealthy.
They were about to reunite, but Shirley accidentally stood Vinnie up, and he left Walford. He returned in April 2008 and declared his love for Shirley, asking her to move in with him. They were happy for a while, until Shirley started neglecting Vinnie in favour of Phil Mitchell and her best friend Heather. He dumped Shirley and moved in with Garry Hobbs and Minty Peterson. His son Callum also joined him in Walford.
Vinnie began to feel disillusioned with Walford, and decided to go on a round the world trip. He invited Shirley to go with him, as she was depressed that Phil had got together with Suzy Branning. They got back together, but as they drove out of Walford, Vinnie stopped the car and told Shirley to stay behind, as he didn't want to always be second best to Phil.
