The neighbour and employer of Theo Kelly, Tommy arrived in Walford in search of Patrick Trueman, under the guise of writing a book about life for black people in England in the 1950s.
Tommy used the book as a way of getting in contact with Patrick - who he was looking for forgiveness from, as Tommy (during his "teddy boy" racist youth) had firebombed the house Patrick lived in with his fiancee, Ruth - who died as a result of the fire.
Tommy wanted forgiveness before he died - which Patrick granted him after much reluctance.
