Summary
A childhood friend of Mark's, Tom returned to Albert Square, after 20 years in the Merchant Marine. Tom had long held a torch for Sharon Watts, whom he successfully romanced after many roadblocks to their union (including a psychopathic ex-wife). A dedicated fireman, Tom was also fighting a brain tumour; he died, on Halloween 2002, while he was trying to rescue Trevor Morgan from the Slater house fire.
