Summary
Terry was originally the off-screen drunken, nasty father of Tiffany Mitchell & her brother Simon Raymond. When made a full-time character he fell in love with his son’s lover’s mother Irene Hills & they eventually married (making for some interesting family get-togethers no doubt!). The writers have often seemed unsure how to handle this character; sometimes he’s evil, sometimes empathetic, often comic. For years he & Irene owned the local shop “The First Til Last” but after it was wrecked by Asif Malik, Terry used the insurance money to start a letting agency with Janine Butcher & took her on as a flatmate. It was during this period that his rocky relationship with Irene ended; during a vacation in Spain she left him for good but he has gone to look for her following his dumping of Janine Butcher & the sale of his house.
