History
Son of Masood and Zainab, Tam first appeared as a school project partner of and rival to Libby Fox.
Signficant Storylines
Acamedic rivalry
Tamwar is definitely the brainbox of the family and was first introduced as a rival for Libby. Unfortunately for her, Tamwar is definitely the better student of the two, getting far higher grades than she does. His braininess is often used as a comedic tool, for example Shabnam can successfully bribe Tamwar with the promise of science magazines to get her own way.
Comedy
In October 2008, Tamwar started acting strangly around his parents. His mother concluded he was gay after he refused to let her look at his laptop and she saw Christian Clarke with his arm round him. She was horrified and tried to get Masood to talk to him about it. After talking with his father, he revealed that he was not gay, but refused to let him into his secret. Eventually it was revealed that his new hobby had been stand-up comedy which he had started along with Jane Beale.
Syed
In late February 2009, Tamwar started being contacting a mystery caller. Unbeknown to his parents, it was actually his estranged brother, Syed Masood. Syed had been contacting him for money as he was having trouble and knew he couldnt ask his parents due to shame. Tamwar went as far as drawing the entire amount out of the Masala Queen account before discovering that his mother, Zainab had accused his father, Masood of stealing from the family business. He began to feel guity and confessed all to his parents. After he learnt of the real reason why Syed left the family, he called him and told him to stay away.
When Syed arrived on the Square in late April, Tamwar tried to get him to leave by paying him £250, the money he had been saving up for uni. This however did not go to plan as Syed spent the night at Janine Butcher's flat instead.
