Summary
In the early years of the show, Sue and her husband Ali ran the cafe on Bridge Street together. She was left traumatized by their son Hassan's death and was determined to have another child, which eventually happened. She found out (wrongly) that Ali was having an affair and ran away with baby Ali. When he eventually found her, Ali kidnapped Little Ali back, and had Sue admitted to a mental hospital following a breakdown.
Sue has not been mentioned since the early 1990s when Kathy used to visit her off screen in hospital.
