Storylines

2004-2005

Fifteen year old Stacey arrived in Walford in November 2004, after her bipolar mother Jean threw her out. She took refuge in her great uncle Charlie's house. During her first months on the Square, she tried to seduce her cousin Lynne's husband, Garry Hobbs, and also Zoe's boyfriend, Dennis Rickman. She slept with Spencer Moon, blackmailing him after revealing she was underage. She got a job working for Patrick and Yolande Trueman at the Minute Mart, but was sacked after stealing the day's takings, lying that she had been mugged on her way to the bank. She also led younger children, Lucy Beale and Demi and Darren Miller, astray.

In 2005, she gave relative Zoe and Chrissie Watts a false alibi for the murder of Dirty Den. After Zoe fled the country to Ibiza, Stacey settled down and took over her clothing stall on Bridge Street market. She struck up a close friendship with Ruby Allen. At the end of 2005, she went back home to look after Jean, who tried to commit suicide and was sectioned, so Stacey returned to Walford.

2006-2007

Stacey, Bradley and Max

In early 2006, Stacey started dating geeky newcomer Bradley Branning. They fell in love, and a few months Stacey discovered that she was pregnant. On his father Max's advice, Bradley persuaded her to abort the pregnancy. Stacey's estranged brother Sean arrived in Walford in August 2006, six years after running away from home, and in November 2006 Jean also moved to Walford.

After her abortion a rift developed between Stacey and Bradley, and when Stacey drunkenly turned up uninvited to Bradley's work Christmas party, he dumped her and got together with colleague Lydia Asler. Stacey sought comfort in Max, and they eventually slept together on Christmas day 2006.

Stacey and Max's affair continued into 2007, and Stacey fell in love with Max, making bigger demands on him to tell his wife, Tanya about their affair. Max agreed to leave Tanya and his daughters, Lauren and Abi, for Stacey. However, when Tanya announced that she was pregnant, Max abandoned his plans to leave. Stacey threatened to tell Tanya about the affair, so Max fled with his family to Spain. In Max's absence, Stacey had a one-night-stand with Deano Wicks, then grew closer to Bradley, and they eventually got engaged.

When Max returned, Stacey told him she was no longer interested as she was marrying his son. All of Max's attempts to split the couple up failed, and Sean discovered the affair and beat Max up. Stacey and Bradley married in November 2007, after Lauren's hidden camcorder secretly recorded Max and Stacey kissing. Lauren burned this onto a DVD and gave it to Bradley for Christmas, revealing the affair to the whole family. After trying to persuade Bradley not to leave her, he smashed up their new flat and left Walford.

2008-2010

In 2008, Stacey tried to win Bradley back by taking him to a Doctor Who convention. He asked for a divorce, and returned to Walford. Stacey then had a brief romance with Steven Beale, which ended when Steven kissed Christian Clarke. She befriended newcomer Danielle Jones, giving her a job on the stall and moving her into the Slater house.

In June 2008, Bradley and Stacey reunited yet again, and Bradley was keen to try for a baby. Stacey was unsure, so continued to take the contraceptive pill. Angry at Bradley for accepting a large amount of money from Max, she kissed Callum Monks. Bradley and Stacey's relationship crumbled again, and she started an on-off relationship with Callum, however, this ended when Callum threatened Jean, who he said was ruining Stacey's life.

In 2009, following Danielle's death, Stacey began to behave erratically, wreaking havoc on the Square. She persistently tried to seduce Max, drank heavily, and had flings with multiple men, including Dermot. After many chances, the market inspector, Mr Lister shut her stall down. After smashing her bedroom window, and Jean telling her that she may have bipolar disorder, Stacey disappeared for several weeks.

When she returned, she had dyed her hair blonde and was covered in cuts and bruises. She reluctantly signed her divorce papers, and bacame obsessed in finding out who Max was seeing, not knowing it was Tanya. She accused Whitney Dean of having an affair with him. When she discovered Max and Tanya were back together, she had a row with them, which ended up with Tanya pushing Stacey, cutting her head.

In hospital, Stacey told a counsellor that she thought she was mentally ill. She fled the hospital, and tried to deny that anything was wrong. Jean booked her an appointment with GP Al Jenkins, who she told that she spent money she didn't have and liked having unprotected sex with strangers. He arranged a pregnancy and HIV test for her, and arranged some medication for her.

Stacey tried to keep her condition from Bradley, who was planning to emigrate to Canada with his new girlfriend, Syd Chambers and her son Noah. She eventually spoke to him about it, and admitted that she had been diagnosed bipolar.

She later stopped taking her medication, acting strangely again; sleeping with Ryan Malloy and entering The Vic's talent competition. Seeing her fragile state, Jean hid Stacey's decree absolut, letting her think she was still married to Bradley. She became convinced that Ryan had killed Trina Johnson, and that he, along with Syd and Archie Mitchell (who had attacked her in the launderette), were plotting to kill her. She interrupted Trina's funeral, trying to open her coffin after it had been lowered into the grave. After locking herself away in the house, Max persuaded her to attend Bradley and Syd's leaving party. She attacked Archie with a broken glass and screamed that everyone apart from Bradley, including her mother, were plotting to kill her. She told Jean that she had not taken her pills for weeks, prompting Jean to visit Dr Jenkins and ask him to section Stacey.

Back at home, Stacey ended up taking all the tablets she had hidden away, but was saved when Jean forced her to vomit them back up. She confessed that she had been having visions of her father and the baby she aborted. She then went round to Bradley's to apologise for making a scene at his party. Syd screamed at her that her and Bradley were divorced, and she and Bradley went outside to get their cab. Stacey went home and was confronted by Dr Jenkins, her mother, two psychologists and two police officers, who had arrived to section her. She ran out into the Square, screaming at Bradley to help her, but was bundled into a police car, while Bradley got in his taxi to the airport.

While in hospital, Stacey met and befriended Becca Swanson and upon her release, she brought Becca to live with her at the Slaters'. Bradley returned to London when his mother Rachel was in a car accident, and Jean persuaded him to help her get Stacey settled at home. He realised that he loved Stacey and decided to stay in Walford. Stacey then discovered that she was pregnant, and told Bradley on Christmas Day that Archie had raped her and was the father. Later that day she went to The Vic and murdered Archie by pushing the Queen Vic bust onto his head.
