Simon worked in the market on the Kapoors' (and latest Bianca's) stall. He had a long relationship with Tony Hills which ended when he found out that Tony had slept with women. Simon was devoted to his sister Tiffany and went slightly mad when Tiffany was run over. He abducted his niece, Courtney, and took her to Peacehaven, where there was a famous clash between him, Tony and Grant (who he blamed for Tiffany's death).
Simon's mental health deteriorated further when he found out about Louise sleeping with Grant Mitchell, and set fire to Louise's flat accidentally. Upon his return from the Burns unit, Simon decided to go off with former boyfriend Tony round Europe.
