Summary
Devoted to her cat Boots, Shirley was the clerk at the local Betting Shop until Andy Hunter bought it. She caused the departure of Dan Ferreira, after he discovered that she and his son, Ash, were having an affair while Dan was trying to woo her. Shirley also had a nasty set-to with upstairs neighbour, Gavin Sharp. Shirley was divorced following a failed marriage, and had grown children who all lived outside the UK. One of them lived in New Zealand, where she supposedly went to join him following her sacking from the bookies by Andy Hunter.
