Rosie - the mother of the Miller household is fiercely devoted to her family and will stick up for them at any cost, even if they're in the wrong. Rosie was initially jealous of other women around her, fearing that they were after her Keith, and this caused her to fall out with Pauline Fowler. Pauline and Rosie mended fences after Pauline was supportive of Demi when the latter was in labour.
Demi's disappearance with Leo and use of heroin caused Rosie to have a very rough time for a while, but she found the strength to support Demi. Rosie recently turned 40 and was delighted to welcome her daughter Dawn back into the fold. Very implausibly, the return of her ex-husband Mike Swann caused her some emotional confusion, not helped by Keith's extreme laziness and apparent total ignorance of her needs. She nearly left Keith, but had a change of heart when Mike balked about taking the twins and Aleesha away with them. Keith left her upon learning of these plans, and Rosie beat herself up for daring to dream of a better life. Ultimately, after discovering Mike's plan to do her out of an inheritance from his mother, Rosie gave him the inheritance in exchange for his promise never to darken his door again. In the meantime, she stopped putting up with Keith's laziness and kicked him out, which ultimately prompted him to propose marriage. They are now engaged, and things seem to have dropped back into their old pattern. Rosie's recent makeover have done nothing to engage Keith's attention or hasten their wedding. Needless to say, the wedding preparations were a total disaster, and Rosie decided to start a new life as a housekeeper (without Keith, but with Demi and Aleesha) in Norfolk.
