Summary
Roger arrived in Walford unannounced on 3rd February 2009, at the request of son-in-law Ian Beale, who hoped Roger could convince estranged wife Linda to return with him to Florida. Linda had arrived on daughter Jane's door step the previous November, having been kicked out of the marital home by Roger, who was having an affair with his 42 year old care nurse.
After a lengthy heart-to-heart and heartfelt apologies for his behaviour, Linda agreed to return to the States with Roger, despite repeated warnings from son Christian that he would break her heart once again if she took him back.
The Clarkes set off for Florida together on 6 February 2009.
