Summary

Peter is Cindy and Ian Beale's son, and the twin brother of Lucy Beale. The Beale twins' early childhood was eventful to say the least - having to deal with their mother's death, the break-up of two of their father's marriages (one to the twins' former nanny, Laura) and the departure of older brother, Steven - all before the age of ten. Peter and Steven also lived in Italy for a year with Cindy, who kidnapped them, before Ian, Phil and Grant went to Italy and took them back.

Whilst sister Lucy struggled to adjust to the idea of yet another prospective step-mother, Jane Collins, Peter welcomed Jane to the family, providing the needed reassurances when adjusting to her new life with the Beales was proving difficult. The tragic loss of his grandmother, Kathy, and his family's accommodation of Ben Mitchell also saw Peter and Lucy lending support to the family.

Peter developed a friendship with Darren Miller, despite the disparity in their circumstances, but the two grew apart as they got older and Ian saw Darren as a bad influence on Peter. When Jay Brown first arrived on the square, he was momentarily palmed off on Peter as well. Jay took a reluctant Peter to the empty Fowler house, to tell ghost stories. Ian found them there when their torchlight was spotted.

In October 2007, Peter, with the rest of the Beale family, dealt with Ian's mysterious disappearance following spooky goings-on (at the hands of his half brother Steven), and the subsequent tragic events as Jane was shot and the family came to terms with Steven's betrayal.

Peter also struck up a relationship with Lauren Branning despite the obstacles of Max's interference and Lauren's stint in care. The relationship lasted until Lauren moved away from Walford with her mother Tanya, and Peter moved on th Zsa Zsa Carter. He started leaving anonymous gifts for Zsa Zsa, which annoyed her boyfriend Leon. Leon and Fatboy eventually caught Peter red-handed, and an unlikely friendship later blossomed between the three. As well as the usual teenage pursuits, he is concentrating on training for London Olympics in 2012 and has even made the Walford Gazette front page for being the fastest runner in the Borough, much to his father's delight. He was devastated when he got good GCSE grades which were called into question because Lucy had cheated. Lucy admitted cheating and cleared Peter's name before moving to live with Cindy's mother, Bev.
