Dr Cousins was the perfect GP - he cared about people, had a gentle manner and was principled. He made an inauspicious entrance into Albert Square, first being knocked down by driver Dot and then locking himself out of his flat with only a bath towel and Big Mo for company.
He was a source of moral support to Little Mo when Freddie Mitchell was rushed to the hospital with a brain injury, just after he and Little Mo consummated their relationship, Oliver unwittingly set the police on Little Mo by voicing his concerns about her parenting skills to Freddie's neurologist. Little Mo found out and dumped him. He and Mo made it up and he asked her to marry him and accompany him to his new job in Leeds, but Mo refused him. He left Walford broken-hearted.
