Summary
"Big Mo" Harris is the ever-present matriarch of the once-great Slater clan. As Charlie's mother-in-law and former sister-in-law to Pat Evans (then Pat Harris), Mo has deep ties in the community. Between harassing her family, selling “hot” merchandise under the table, and romantic encounters with boyfriends, including, recently, Bert, Mo keeps pretty busy.
Head of the slatar clan - Mo moved to the square in 2000 with son-in-law Charlie, and Granddaughters Lynne, Kat, Little Mo and Zoe (who would later be revealed to be Kat's daughter).
As well as keeping her grand-daughters in order during her time on the square. Mo was primarily concerned with her wheeling and dealing. Christmas 2005 saw her plan to get a cheap Turkey backfire when she ended up with a live Parrot named Corky. While in 2007 Mo was finally busted for one of her schemes - selling duty free cigarettes, and landed herself a community service order! Among her many 'business contacts' are Fat Elvis and 'Chinese Walter' who are regularly referenced by Mo on screen.
Recent years has seen a small romance blossom with Bert Atkinson, but it was short lived, and they broke up first when he slept with her friend Ina, and a second time when Bert's ex-wife Evie arrived on the square.
In 2004 Mo and Charlie took the young Stacey Slater into their home, her brother Sean arrived in the square in 2006, and their mother Jean - a bi-polar sufferer - also moved into the Slater house in 2007. The arrival of the extended family has brought new life to the Slaters after the departure of all of Mo's granddaughters, and Mo remains a constant presence in he background of their dramas proving some of the light relief to the Slaters trials and tribulations. The most recent storylines she's been involved in are Danielle Jones' death and the possibility that Stacey is also a bi-polar sufferer.
