Liz arrived, from her home in Spain, in Walford for her son, Owen's, trial, following his arrest for assaulting ex-wife Denise Wicks.
When en route to Denise's, her purse was stolen (by Sean Slater), she was left with no alternative but to stay with her, after some persuasion by Libby. When Owen's trial resulted in a suspended sentence, Liz arranged for him to move to Cardiff with her sister. After a false alarm kidnapping, Squiggle turned up, and Liz took her son away in a taxi.
As they were departing, he alighted, informed her that he needed a drink. Liz contacted Squiggle and Denise, who went looking for Owen with her boyfriend Kevin. Liz stayed at the flat with Squiggle, Chelsea, and Deano. When Chelsea stormed out and Deano followed, Libby phoned a by-then well-drunk Owen, who decided to go to the flat. However, when Squiggle realised his state, she locked herself in her bedroom, where Liz told her to stay, just before Owen knocked her unconscious.
Liz later woke up and called for Squiggle, to no avail. She later tried to visit Libby in hospital, but Denise lied and told Liz that Libby was asleep. This was her last appearance.
