Summary
Lisa Shaw was primarily known for whinging. She was introduced as assistant market inspector, had an affair with boss Michael Rose, became involved with Phil Mitchell, lost her job, had a mis-carriage, tried to kill Phil and discovered she was again pregnant with his child.
Throughout all of this Mark Fowler stalwartly stood by and worshipped her. After leaving Phil, she gave birth to baby Louise (named for Mark's gran Lou Beale). Unfortunately, thanks to her big mouth Phil found out he was the father and for awhile things were quite difficult for the newlyweds. Lisa never did know when she had it good though and started seeing Phil on the sly. Eventually she left Mark for Phil but within days realised her error when the Mitchells closed ranks on her.
Fleeing to Portugal to rejoin mate Melanie in Spain, Lisa got Louise away but not for long as Phil followed her, returning with the baby and refusing to answer any questions about Lisa (at least until Kate Mitchell's questioning bore fruit). Lisa again returned to Walford on the day of Phil and Kate's wedding. It was clear she only wanted one thing - her daughter Louise back.
Although it initially appeared she had gotten herself together, viewers soon saw a return to a hysterical, crying Lisa as she attempted to kill Phil yet again. Den Watts joined forces with her, not only employing her at Angie's Den, but also trying to get her to give up drink (which she had developed a fondness for). Just as Lisa was on the verge of giving up and leaving, Phil was arrested thanks to Den's machinations, causing mother and daughter to be reunited and thus leave Walford together.
