Keith is the head of the Miller household, and was one of laziest characters to appear in the Square. Never far from his armchair he directs life around him. His illiteracy was a huge source of shame for him, and he was humiliated when his children learned of it. He seemed to be slowly remedying this problem, and for some time played the role of peacemaker in his troubled family. He nearly lost Rosie to her ex-husband Mike Swann, and then left her when he found out about her plans to leave. Since then, she became fed up of his laziness and general inability to do a lick of work, and kicked him out. This, and Mike Swann's brief return to Walford, briefly acted as a wake-up call to Keith, who proposed to Rosie. He continues to do all he can to postpone the wedding, and is oblivious to all of Rosie's efforts to make herself more attractive.
On 4th July 2006, Rosie and Keith decided they would get married at Walford Register Office. Keith turned up late to the ceremony and had mud on his suit. Hlafway though Rosie had second thoughts and ran out halfway though. Rosie stayed at the Queen Vic that night and Keith decided that he would change his ways and help more around the house, however, this didn't make Rosie feel any different and told Keith that she wasn't in love with him anymore and had taken a job in the Cotswolds and was going to take the kids with her.
On 7th July 2006, Rosie, Demi, Aleesha and Darren were packed and ready to go. Darren didn't want to leave Walford, so Rosie made Keith convince Darren that Keith wasn't interested in his son. In the car as they were leaving Walford, Rosie could see how upset Darren was and ended up telling him the truth and told him that he could stay with his dad.
