Summary

Jake is cousin to Alfie and brother to Danny, for whom he played the role of "protector". The two of them arrived at the end of 2004. Johnny Allen employed Jake to work in his various businesses - unfortunately for him Jake witnessed Johnny pushing Andy Hunter to his death which he found hard to deal with. Jake had a brief fling with Chrissie Watts (after she had murdered Den), but gave life in Walford up when his brother got into very serious trouble with Johnny Allen. Jake saved Danny from being shot by Johnny, and the two of them left Walford together.

Jake returned to Walford without Danny in late 2005 and resumed his romance with Chrissie Watts. An exchange of confidences resulted in his knowledge of Chrissie's being guilty of Den's murder. He made a feeble attempt to blackmail Johnny Allen into buying the Vic, and supported Chrissie through her arrest and jail time. After he lost her bail money, Chrissie told Jake their relationship could not survive her prison sentence, and she gave him his walking papers. The last Moon in Walford, he was working on Alfie's stall. He was shocked by Danny's reappearance in Walford, and swore not to bail him out of trouble again. This resolution went out the window, of course, when he learned the Mitchells had gone to pay Johnny a visit. Jake went to rescue Danny, but ended up shooting him dead when Danny was about to execute Grant. Jake buried Danny on Johnny's property, and returned Ruby to Walford. After this return to Walford, he was then put in charge of Scarlet's nightclub and made a point of looking out for Ruby. When Ruby fell for Sean Slater, Jake was quick to realise that Sean didn't love Ruby, he was after her money. He tried to persuade her of this, but Ruby refused to believe him.

When meeting Ruby's father Johnny in prison, Sean admitted to Johnny what his game really was and taunted Johnny about this. This got Johnny worked up and he went to phone Jake to tell him to kill Sean. Unfortunately whilst doing this Johnny suffered a massive heart attack and whispered to one of his cellmates "Jake.... kill him for me." His cellmate misunderstood this and thought that Johnny wanted Jake dead, not Sean.

As Ruby celebrated her 18th birthday, Jake finally lost his patience with her and told her a few home truths and exactly what he thought of her. Ruby sacked Jake from his job at Scarlet's so he took money from the club and packed his bags. As he was walking out of Albert Square he was approached by a sinister looking stranger who asked him if he was Jake Moon. Jake of course answered yes and has not been seen since. Pat Evans tried to contact him as she was worried about him with there being no contact, however on all phone calls we heard his phone going to voicemail. Jake is currently presumed dead, although this is not certain.
