Summary
Jack is Honey Mitchell's father. Mistaken by Billy for a plumber when he turned up in Walford, Jack allowed Billy to hold onto the illusion until Billy had basically told him his (and the Mitchells') sordid life story. Billy was gobsmacked when Honey identified Jack as her father. Jack took quite a shine to Peggy Mitchell, and the feelings might have been returned, but Jack abruptly departed Walford, leaving Peggy to wonder.
However, Jack returned to the square for Honey and Billy's latest wedding, soon after which, his granddaughter, Petal was born. He was one of the first to be told of her Down's, and has been very supportive of his daughter, who ran to him when she couldn't cope. Although Jack and Peggy started a relationship upon his return, he broke it off over her attitude to Petal's Down's.
Jack reappeared when Honey fled Walford over her issues with her daughter.
He left in November 2006 but has been mentioned a couple of times since his departure. The first being when Billy and Honey announced that they were going to visit him with Janet and the second being when Billy told Archie Mitchell that Honey had moved in with him. He was killed in a car crash off-screen in May 2010.
