Welcome to Walford Wiki, we're in the process of checking the data imported from Walford Web. All named characters have been imported and we are just doing the last few characters now without names (e.g. nurses, police etc).
If you can't find what you're searching for please check the old cast databases.

First of all, thank you for agreeing to help edit the Walford Web Wiki. When it's finished it'll be a huge repository of everything EastEnders.
Here's some of the things that need doing, and please assume I've written "pleases" and "thank yous" throughout the requests on this page - I'm very very grateful for the help!
At the moment I'm gradually transferring the documents across from the old database, and then reformatting them. It's a huge job, and it's going to take me a while. In the next few days I'm going to lock the old databases so that they can't be edited anymore and add links to Walford Web so that the Cast database will point across to here instead.
First up use the database and read it like you're a casual visitor. When you read a page, think to yourself "Does it make sense?", "Is the history complete?" "What about when such and such a thing happened?" etc.
If you find a mistake, just click the EDIT link at the top of the page and have a go at correcting it yourself. The Cheat Sheet will give you useful tips on how to use Media Wiki software - and don't worry it's really easy. Also - don't worry if you mess a page up, let me know and I can put back a previous version of the page.
When you've watched an episode of EastEnders, think if there's anything significant that needs to go in the Wiki - please note that the Wiki shouldn't contain every minute detail of every episode and story that befalls a character. Just summarise it from time to time.
This is probably the most important thing to do. With no offence intended to anyone who has edited it in the past, the storylines are out of date and not updated very often. For a really bad example of this, read Callum Monks' page - it was never updated the whole time he was in the programme and still claims he's a current character. Please make sure the current characters are kept as up to date as possible.
As soon as a new character has been announced you should add them to Walford Web Wiki. Make sure you copy the template from the Style Guide so that it's formatted consistently.
Again an important step, please always check the Content Editors Main Menu, particularly the bottom items on it.
These pages absolutely have to be updated first before anything else, they're either out of date or contain lots of mistakes.
These pages need to be created, but are less important that the Flagged pages. While I'm importing stuff you can probably leave these as they'll be imported in due course.
If you want to practice ediitng a page and adding Wiki links to one, then these are the ones to try. The more you try, the easier it'll get!
