Summary

Seen briefly in E20 series 1 episode 8 as a member of Lucas Johnson's congregation and Mercy's grandmother, who she lived with. Mercy was pregnant by married member of Lucas's congregation, Benjamin, and managed to keep her pregnancy and miscarriage a secret from her grandmother.

She appeared in the main show when she encouraged Mercy to tell Fatboy that they were moving back to Lagos. Mercy then told Fatboy that she was only moving back to Nigeria because Grace wanted to. At Grace's leaving party, thrown by Lucas and Denise at the community centre, she admitted that she would miss England, and was only returning to Africa for Mercy's sake. Fatboy got the two of them together and made them realise that neither of them wanted to leave Walford, so they decided to stay.

Grace struck up a strange friendship with Dot Branning after a short rivalry, and confessed to Dot that she had lost her job as a teacher for hitting a child. She supported Mercy when Ashley Chubb reported her to the authorities for outstaying her visa, and although she disapproved of Mercy's marriage to Fatboy, she let it happen to keep Mercy in the country. She stayed in Walford after Mercy decided to go back to Nigeria, and was joined by Mercy's younger sister Faith. Faith was one of the main characters of E20 series 3, and after the series concluded, Grace no longer appeared in the main show.
