Summary
A mystery pensioner when he arrived on the Square, Ernie had Billy Mitchell quite anxious as he had been the Head of the Boys' Home that Billy grew up in. During an emotional show-down when Billy broke into Ernie's home one night, it was revealed that Ernie had physically abused (though not molested) the juvenile Billy, leaving him angry and insecure. Ernie left the Square in shame the next day.
