Summary
Whitney Dean's mother, who appeared in January 2009 and wanted nothing to do with her. She re-appeared on 5 June 2009 with the reason for her visit a complete mystery.
On 8 June 2009 Debra appeared to be making an effort to get on with her daughter, however her real reasons for being in Walford still remained a mystery. On the same date she was invited by Whitney to move into 31 Albert Square once Whitney learned that she was being evicted supposedly due to her landlord not being able to keep up the mortgage.
Since her arrival on the Square, Debra has been selling dodgy DVDs on the market and has roped Whitney in to help her. Ricky has admitted that people have been asking after Debra on the Square although who this is and why has not been revealed. When Whitney went to answer the door in the same episode Debra shouted at her not to answer the door and instead Whitney had to check who it was through the window. Whitney was alarmed to find it was the Police, thinking they'd found out that they were selling dodgy DVDs. Whitney hid with the CDs in the back of the house whilst Debra dealt with the Police. The reason for the Police visit has not yet been revealed but doesn't seem to be anything to do with the dodgy DVDs.
11 June 2009 saw Debra announce to Whitney that she had plans to move away from London to Greece. Debra announced that she would love Whitney to move out there with her and Whitney said she would. However Debra later retracted this invitation leaving Whitney heartbroken.
12 June 2009 saw Whitney confront Debra and accuse her that Debra did not come back here for her. Debra still wouldn't reveal her reason for wanting to run away though. Debra packed her bags and left a package with Whitney telling her not to open it as she "would be sorry" if she did.
