Storylines
2004-present
Darren arrived in Walford in September 2004 with his family, pregnant twin Demi, cohabiting parents Keith and Rosie and half brother Mickey. His first real storyline came in November 2005 when he found Chrissie Watts's bail money, that Jake Moon lost. He spent it on his girlfriend, Kylie, and shared it with sisters Demi and Dawn. Dawn's father, Mike Swann later stole the money.
After leaving school, Darren found employment at Kevin Wicks's car lot. He grew close to Kevin's stepdaughter, Libby Fox, and they began talking on an internet chatroom, unaware of each other's identity. They met up and began a relationship. They then set up websites including a fly-on-the-wall camera filming Keith.
When Kevin died driving a cut-and-shut car, Darren took control of the car lot, blaming Phil Mitchell for Kevin's death, as Phil had sold the car to Kevin. Darren became Jack Branning's protegé, and tricked Phil into confessing his role in Kevin's death on tape. He carried on running the car lot under various bosses; Jack, Janine Butcher and Archie Mitchell.
Libby was accepted into Oxford University in 2009, and being separated from her prompted Darren to propose, after asking her father Owen's permission. Libby accepted, but on the night of their engagement party, Libby's mother Denise returned from holiday, doing her best to break up the engagement. Darren then got a call from Heather Trott, revealing that she had had a baby, George, as a result of a one-night-stand between them in February 2009.
