Danny Moon arrived in Walford with his brother Jake just after Christmas 2004, and wasted little time dragging Spencer into trouble with the law, coaxing him to break into Pauline Fowler's house. It soon transpired though that they were in trouble with Johnny Allen, Danny continued to have a turbulent relationship with him throughout his short stay in Albert Square.
Danny had a brief relationship with Sam Mitchell, but never really fired on all cylinders brain-wise, and his undoing proved to be when he torched Johnny Allen's house as revenge for Johnny taking his idea to have a salsa evening at Scarlett. Johnny found out who started the fire and took his revenge on Danny, taking him into a wood at night and pointing a gun at him. Jake came to the rescue though and talked him out of shooting Danny. Danny and Jake subsequently left Walford, after which Jake returned on his own.
Danny, like the bad penny he is, turned up again in Walford, dressed to the nines and playing the role of lackey to Johnny Allen. The depth of his mental illness was put on display as he suffered free-form delusions wherein he believed Johnny Allen was his father and that there was no harm in groping Ruby while she slept (after he drugged her).
In one of the most implausible EE storylines ever, Johnny put Danny - his sole bodyguard - in charge of eliminating the Mitchell brothers in the wooded area behind his manor house. Just before he could execute Grant with a sawed-off shotgun, though, Jake appeared from nowhere and shot him dead. Danny is buried anonymously there, near three daffodils that escaped the Mitchell/Moon scuffle.
