Seen in the "Return of Nick Cotton" bubble, Colin was a con imprisoned with Nick Cotton at Blackmoor Prison. Colin was a "grass" and Nick let the prison population know about it, so Colin and his son "Little Colin" swore to kill Nick when they were paroled. They tracked him to ex Zoe's house and nearly managed to, except for the intervention of the police.

A school friend of Bobby Beale's, Ian Beale secretly paid him to sing "Rawhide" at the Teeny Weeny Talent Contest while Bobby mimed along. Ian's scheme was rumbled on the night, when Dotty Cotton discovered it and unplugged Colin's hidden microphone in the middle of the song. Jane whisked Bobby off the stage to shouts of "cheat!" and found a sheepish Ian and Colin in the Queen Vic stairwell.
