Summary
Eldest son of the Ferreira family, Ash is a college lecturer (although he never seems to be anywhere but the Square) & has a history of gambling problems. Once married (before moving to Walford) Ash lost wife and home through his gambling. He seemed to have straightened out, and even tried for romance with Shirley Benson, but that caused a split in the Ferraira family, whcih ended with Dan's departure for parts unknown. After he left, it was discovered that he had never made any mortgage payments and cleaned out the bank accounts! Ash tried to get the money necessary to keep their home thru gambling but inevitably lost it all and now the entire family has been evicted from the Square. Adi left the Square with the rest of the Ferreira family after losing Johnny Allen's taxis.
