Summary
Andy is the adoptive father of Danielle Jones. He was first mentioned by Danielle in December 2008 when she lied to Stacey Slater that her dad wasn't going to be home for Christmas to cover up for the real reason she wanted to stay in Walford, to be close to her mother, Ronnie Mitchell.
On January 16th 2009, Andy visited Walford when Ronnie Mitchell called him, after Danielle told her that she was pregnant. He tried to persuade Danielle to return home to Telford, where her family would help to support her. Danielle then lied to Ronnie by saying that Andy had told her to have an abortion.
Andy was later mentioned in February when Danielle decided to go back to Telford to visit him after she'd had the abortion and had been let down by Ronnie failing to accompany her to an appointment. After Danielle told her father about the abortion, he became angry and upset causing her to return to Walford.
The day after Danielle died, April 3rd 2009, Andy came to Walford to collect her belongings and visit the place where his daughter had died. He was told by Stacey that the real reason for Danielle coming to Walford was to search for her birth mother and that if she hadn't have found her, she may still have been alive. This caused Andy to believe that it was her mother that had led her to her death. Unknowningly he bumped into Ronnie while she was laying flowers. He told her that he had never thanked her for letting him know about Danielle's troubles. They later talked in the caff and Ronnie offered to identify the body with him after she revealed that Danielle had died in her arms. When the body was revealed it all becae too much for Ronnie and Andy suddenly understood who she really was and blamed her for Danielle's death.
Danielle's funeral took place on April 14th. Andy refused to let Ronnie into the church as he still believed in his head that she had killed his daughter. Later on, after Stacey explained that Ronnie didn't know of Danielle's true identity until it was too late, he agreed to talk about Danielle's childhood with her. After hurting Ronnie by telling her that Danielle must have gotton her kind heart from her mother, he handed her one of Danielle's old teddy bears named Digby as he didn't know what her could do with it. He refused Ronnie's offer of Danielle's locket despite Ronnie saying that it belonged with her things.
